Sportsbook offers up Super Bowl props

The Denver Broncos are currently listed as 3-point favorites over the Seattle Seahawks with the total set at 47 points for the Super Bowl, but the real fun begins with the endless number of prop bets posted surrounding almost every possible player and team outcome associated with this matchup.

The player prop at the top of the list at Bodog is Super Bowl XLVIII MVP. The quarterback position has dominated this award in recent years with 10 MVP trophies in the past 15 games. Denver quarterback Peyton Manning will be gunning for his second Super Bowl MVP as the 6/5 favorite, and Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson has been listed as a 7/2 second favorite. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has been opened as a 5/1 third favorite.

Another of the most popular player prop bets is which player scores the first touchdown of the game. Lynch ends up at the top of this list at 5/1, which could set up an interesting parlay play using both this and his MVP odds. Denver wide receivers Eric Decker and Wes Welker are co-second favorites at 8/1, followed by another pair of Manning’s targets in Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas at 9/1. Denver running back Knowshon Moreno is also listed at 9/1.

Given that five of the top six players on this list play for Denver, you might want to consider a play on the Bodog prop for the first score of the game. The top odds on this list have Seattle or Denver scoring a field goal at 7/2, but you can get 3/1 odds that the Broncos score first on a touchdown pass.

If you enjoy playing the “over/under” for the Super Bowl, you can get odds on the total after the first quarter (9.5 points) and the first half (24 points) as well as the game. You can play an over/under on each individual team’s points. Seattle’s moneyline odds are -125 for over 12 first half points, and -105 for under that total. The odds are -125 for the over on 23.5 total game points for the Seahawks, and -105 for under that total.

If you want to bet on Denver’s first half points at Bodog, the line for over 12.5 points is set at -135, and it is set at -105 for under 12.5. As far as the total for the entire game, the Broncos’ line is set at 25 with the moneyline on the over listed at -125 and at -105 for the under.
